I am happy to share my passion for yoga, and the eternal truth to which it points. My understanding of Indian/Eastern philosophy has both deepened and expanded since I first discovered yoga, and has intensified dramatically during the last 10 years of continual study, daily practice, and regular teaching of a variety of topics related to Yoga.

10:30 – 11:00: Breakfast break
11:00 – 12:00: Yoga Philosophy talk/discussion

11:00 – 12:00: Yoga Philosophy talk/discussion
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Every morning our asana class will explore a different theme (backbends, Inversions etc), guided by a special spiritual focus. I will also introduce a new Pranayama technique each day and together we will use a different 'object of concentration' in our meditation practice. By the end of the five days you will have an expanded toolbox of techniques to deepen your understanding of Yoga and encourage you in your own practice.
Our yoga philosophy discussions will begin by exploring the original goals of Yoga, and how that is revealed in the ancient texts of the Upanishads. We will discuss the different paths of Yoga in the Bhagavad Gita, helping to give you a clearer idea of which path may work for you in your life. We will discuss The 'Yoga Sutras' of Patanjali, with particular attention on the 'Ashtanga' (8-limb) system, designed to help us 'awaken' to our true nature.
We will also identify key yogic concepts to help us remove ignorance, which block our ability to see who we truly are. These include the ‘koshas’ – the layers of our being which make up our experience, the ‘kleshas’ – the obstacles to awakening, and the 'Gunas' - the 3 qualities of nature, which may help us better understand how to find harmony in our day to day living.
In all of the teachings I will be aiming to make them come to life for you, to allow them to be experienced and not just learned. Experiential learning and understanding is the best guide, and together we can come to know ourselves for what we truly are - perfect, whole, and complete in every way! You are no less than the whole universe being expressed through its own unique perspective - YOU!!!
